Why I love to work from home
To be honest working from home has been one of the best decisions I have made. I love that I am my own boss and have the time and opportunity to work on my passion for writing. Being an independent contractor gave me the freedom I needed during the Corona Virus Pandemic. As I have stated in previous blog posts, I was able to keep my children out of daycare and that really gave me peace of mind. I also have the ability to write my books and manage all aspects of my business.

Working from home has also allowed me to alleviate a lot of unwanted stresses that I was dealing with on a daily basis. I now love to get up for work and have the option of choosing what companies I want to work for. When I speak of companies I work for I am an independent contractor and you can read my blog post “Best work from home companies of 2022“. Outside of being an independent contractor I am also and published author and blogger.
Leaving a dead end job

When I left my previous employer I felt as if I was absolutely losing it. I hated going to work. In the job I was in there was no room for growth and I absolutely hated every day that I had to clock in. The day I sent in my resignation I was on a call with a customer that just tipped the pot and I knew I could not be there anymore because I was losing myself and becoming more and more down in the dumps. Working from home was already something I was doing at night and on weekends so I just stepped out on faith and never looked back.

Designing my work from home space
Ok so when designing my work from home space I had to be very creative and resourceful. I actually love my set up and unless I decide to buy a bigger house, or my children go off to college which is years away I have to do what I have to do to make my space my own. The first thing I did was turn my dining area into my office space. It honestly was the best decision I could have made. it was between turning my master walk-in closet into an office space or creating one in an area that we as a family honestly barely used.
So I got rid of my large round dining table and started my journey to making a productive work from home area. I love to decorate so choosing my desk chair and simple decor was easy and fun. I went with an L-shaped desk because I knew I needed to be able to have an ample amount of workspace to be both comfortable and productive. YOu will find some of the items I purchased below.
Peace and quiet
My favorite time of day to work from home is in the morning time when I can focus on work while my children are at school. There is nothing like getting that first cup of coffee and opening the windows to let in the sunshine. The peace and quiet of being home alone is absolute bliss. We as parents don’t get a lot of free time so the mornings and nights after bedtime are my times of peace. I usually have an audiobook from Audible going in my headphones when I write or am on a no-talk contract. Below you will find a 3month free deal for my readers.

Conclusion
To conclude, working from home may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for me and my goals, it is absolutely awesome. I have designed my space to custom fit me and I love it. If you are a work from home employee post a pic of your workspace in the comments. I would love to see how you maximize your space.
