I am not sure about you but I was glued to my television like many others watching the funeral of United Kingdom’s Queen Elizabeth II. The traditions, uniforms, and overall show of love and respect from the people she ruled over for over 70 years was absolutely amazing. I am absolutely sure that the Queen is looking down and smiling.

So, the question still remains, was Queen Elizabeth Racist? Personally, I can not answer that because I am simply not a royal. However, there are many people that say some of the Queen’s actions point to yes. During my research of this subject, I can across lots of articles that not only allegedly highlighted racism in the royal family but alleged racism from the top down throughout the years. There are many reports that alleged people of color were not allowed to work in the palace. It is also confirmed during recent interviews that questions and concerns were brought to the attention of Prince Harry and Meghan as to how dark their newborn child would be. I have to honestly say I probably caught a few flies when I watched the interview with Oprah because I was completely floored. Find some of the articles below.

Racism within the ranks of the Monarchy does not surprise me at all because unfortunately racism still plays a large role in today’s world. We all had hope and were extremely proud when the royal family seemed to accept the Duchess of Sussex. However, it became very clear that even the royal family could still use some lessons and growth in overcoming the mental thought process that your skin color depicts your rank, success, and overall stature.
