Good morning guys! Today I will be discussing the ups and downs of being a Mom, Blogger, Entrepreneur, and Author. Stepping out on faith to start focusing on my dreams and goals has been one of the most challenging and scariest things I have ever done. As many of you may know now I have always used writing as an escape. I love it! I remember writing my first quote on quote book in the closet of my childhood bedroom. Journaling and writing in general has helped me get through and process a lot of stressful days.

Writing process as an author and blogger

My thought process when creating and writing any of my books or blog posts is simple. I’ve always had a big imagination and I use that trait to help me in my creation process. First I start by outlining in my head or on paper how I want the character to be thought of and what I want the story line to be. I get a lot of inspiration from my children and being a mom when it comes to my children’s books. I try to always put a message of encouragement in my children’s books because our kids need that. Kids need to know that being different is ok. They also need to know the importance of always learning and growing to do things on their own. How to deal with bullying, current events, and sometimes tragedy.

Me personally I love to have on my headphones and listen to either a book from audible or one of my favorite musical artists on my Amazon music app. I always have a fan/heater combo on my desk because I am either hot or cold all the time so that is a must when I’m home working. My work area is really important to me because I am at my computer for a good majority of my day. I have colorful pens, my planner, note books, note pads pretty much anything you can think of to make my space comfortable and simply me.

Creating my characters

Creating my characters is a fully imaginative process. For instance, in my book “Jelly Bean has a new human” I talk about Jelly Bean finding his new family through adoption. I made Jelly a puppy because most children love dogs. Jelly does get into a little muddy mischief but finds out quickly that even though there is a little bit of a muddy mess that his humans still love him just the same. I choose graphics with a lot of bright colors to catch your eye. I mean what little one really wants to see black and white words with no pictures. Even if a child is just starting to read he or she can use the pictures to create their own narrative or help them figure out words.

One of my favorite graphic sites to use in any of my designs is Canva. I use my pro account to layer designs to create my illustrations. Canva is a very easy tool to use for a pro or beginner. There are also many other programs that you can purchase like Corel.

Mom

Ah! my favorite job of all is being a mom. My children ages 9 and 10 are my greatest accomplishments, cliché I know but so true. Don’t get me wrong they can be full of drama, loud, and sometimes stinky but I wouldn’t change a thing about them. My kids are always interested in the books I write and always wanna give their input. To tell the truth I use a lot of their recommendations. My daughter reads every kid’s book and tells me if she understands the story and gets the hidden messages. It’s an excellent way to spend time with her and to let improve her editing skills for school.

Blogging Entrepreneur

Blogging and working as an independent contractor is right now what helps keep me afloat. My goal is to make a full-time income from my affiliate marketing, writing, and blogging while achieving financial freedom. Working as an independent contractor I have the freedom to create my schedule and focus on expanding my reach. It also allows me to be home and available for the commitments I have scheduled. It is a lot of hard work but in the end, it is worth it. I am seeing more goals coming to fruition and that to me is a blessing. My blog includes recipes, lifestyle hacks, discounts for my readers, my published books and upcoming releases.

Last, Financial freedom is my overall goal. So as previously stated I do include a lot of ways I save and provide any discounts I can give to my readers in my blogs. I use my notebooks, journals, and planners that I designed myself to help me stay on track and my readers can also find those on my amazon author page, and my NRFR Etsy shop. Even though I am still a work in progress and definitely where I want to be the things I am doing right now work for me. Leave your thoughts and comments below and let me know some of the processes you use on a daily to make your life easier to accomplish your dreams.

Writing has always been a passion of mine. Since a young age writing was a very needed way of escaping to places unknown. I remember writing my first "book" in my bedroom as a youngling. The love of poetry and writing just continued to grow through my adolescent, teen, and adult years. I never really shared my stories or poetry with anyone until I was older and more comfortable with rejection. Expressing my feelings through words is something that no one can ever take from me. Today as a mother of two rambunctious children I find myself writing educational, poetry, and romance works of art. In my educational works you can always find a hidden message that hopefully will make you not only evaluate yourself but think about others. My romance novels and poems are super steamy and definitely for a mature audience. No matter the genre that I am writing for I just hope that the world enjoys every moment.
