Life changes due to letting go

As we grow older and mature in our lives we learn about the things that make us happy and the things that we still need to improve on. Letting go is one of the hardest things we as human beings will ever have to do. Deciding to part ways with people that no longer make you happy or serve a purpose in positive living can be a life changing task that could not only change your current lifestyle but also your overall family dynamic.

Deciding to move on changes your outlook on relationships if you have expressed your feelings to someone and they choose not to change or listen and take you seriously. For instance, if you are in a relationship with someone and you let your partner know what you need from them and they choose to not take into consideration that your feelings are valid what is there left for you to do?

According to www.marriage.com ” Due to lack of communication in relationships, you may lose the connection, the love, the passion, or the spark that you once shared. Poor communication in marriage can make you tempted to cheat. It can make you feel like being married isn’t quite what it used to be anymore.”

Lack of intimacy

A lack of intimacy can turn a couple from lovers to roommates in the blink of an eye. Letting go of a relationship that you and your partner have spent so much time building is stressful and physically tiring. Intimacy in a relationship ranges from mental intimacy to physical intimacy. The loss of either of these dynamics can force the parties involved to resent the other and put up walls that can not easily be removed or taken down.

According to www.regain.us “A relationship needs intimacy to survive, but a lack of affection and intimacy in a relationship can eventually break the bond between the partners and push the connection to the point of no return.”

Broken Emotions or lack thereof

Another main reason relationships fail on top of a lack of communication is the inability to show or express your feelings with your partner. When you feel as if you are in a relationship alone your heart begins to protect itself by any means necessary. If you can not openly show your emotions to the person that is supposed to love you what do you do?

Broken emotions can be a dangerous thing when it comes to a relationship. When a partner has their mind set on ending the relationship and moving on it will be extremely hard for a partner to get back on track if they don’t take the time to work on themselves and let their partner know they are loved and wanted. According to www.marriage.com “You can’t expect a long-lasting relationship when you have no communication. We’re not mind readers to know that you are upset, sad, or lonely. How can you guess what your partner needs and wants if you don’t talk openly?”

Infidelity

When your significant other shows no emotion or affection your mind automatically goes to whether or not he or she is stepping outside of the relationship. If that is the case then moving on is something that should seriously be considered. If you have begun to explore other options to find what you are missing you need to be honest with yourself and make a decision of if your spouse or mate is where you want to be.

Communication

Trying to establish open communication with a partner that has no interest in meeting you halfway is a frustrating task. Looking into a couples therapist is a good idea if you feel there is any chance of reconciliation. Look into a couples getaway like Sandals which is an all-inclusive resort company that specializes in couples.

Thinking outside the box when it comes to attempting to open communication is a must. As previously stated look into a couples therapist. Better help is a great service that will make finding a therapist easy. Depression is a silent killer so don’t be afraid to reach out for help if you feel that is something you need to do. Conclusion

Leaving a relationship that you have put so much time and energy into can be super depressing. However, sometimes the best thing for you is also the hardest. If there is no communication, intimacy, or compromise remember the only person that will look out for you is you. Life is short live happy friends!

Writing has always been a passion of mine. Since a young age writing was a very needed way of escaping to places unknown. I remember writing my first "book" in my bedroom as a youngling. The love of poetry and writing just continued to grow through my adolescent, teen, and adult years. I never really shared my stories or poetry with anyone until I was older and more comfortable with rejection. Expressing my feelings through words is something that no one can ever take from me. Today as a mother of two rambunctious children I find myself writing educational, poetry, and romance works of art. In my educational works you can always find a hidden message that hopefully will make you not only evaluate yourself but think about others. My romance novels and poems are super steamy and definitely for a mature audience. No matter the genre that I am writing for I just hope that the world enjoys every moment.
