Good morning

Just like many of you my weekend started out smoothly and then all of a sudden went left. As most of you know with my businesses I am online all the time and having my computer and cell phone is a must. I use them both on a daily basis to keep my Life and businesses on track and losing either one of them can be extremely stressful and just simply worthy of a melt down.

Why me?

The question that comes to mind when the worst happens and you are just not prepared. Why Me? So, I was bringing up my computer to start working and nothing. Yes! I said nothing the hard drive on my laptop died an untimely death which would end up leaving me hundreds of dollars lighter. After the initial meltdown and choice words to my former laptop I pulled myself together and went into what I like to call my no room for failure mode. I talked it over with my fiancé and started my journey to purchasing a new laptop.

Purchasing a new laptop

When purchasing a laptop it is important to make sure that you know what you need, what your overall budget is, and where you want to go to bargain shop. Off course my Laptop would break during a holiday weekend when most stores close early and my kids are in the pool and its after 6p.m. on a Saturday and I have deadlines to meet. So I gather my two minions and off we go to find a new laptop that would support me through all of my deadlines, and future endeavors.

Specifications

So running a blog, writing and publishing my books, contracting with affiliates, emails, meetings, and family I need my devices to work. SO the specifications that I was going to look for were at minimum 8GB of RAM, 500GB of memory, windows operating system, wireless and hardwire capabilities. I know for some this may be a foreign language but for me it is just the minimum to make my life easier when it comes to all aspects of my work life balance.

Walmart laptop options

With the Pandemic in full swing we have all come to know that there are not a lot of ready to take home options when it comes to purchasing a laptop, furniture, cars, or appliances. Right now we are all in a order and wait mode. So I was extremely nervous that I would not find a laptop that I would be happy with in such a short time. I have to admit that Walmart had a pretty descent selection on display but finding one in stock was the key.

My choices were between a chrome book, ASUS, Lenovo, HP, and Gateway. I have purchased Lenovo and HP products in the past so I was comfortable look at those and just narrowing down which would be best for me. Computers and operating systems change so fast that I actually us a comparison tool that was available on the Walmart scan app. The app allowed me to scan the bar code of the computers and read reviews, specs, and prices. This was a plus for me because I had two kids asking a million questions and just simply overwhelming me.

My choice

My laptop of choice is the HP Pavilion. The HP Pavilion met most of the qualifications that I set for purchasing a laptop. 8GB RAM, 512GB Memory, AMO Ryzen 5 Processor, B&O Audio, wireless capabilities, USB ports, and HDMI capabilities. The only thing that the laptop does not have is hardwire capabilities, or an adequate number of usb ports for my needs. That however is an easy fix I just went on Amazon and ordered a usb and hardwire port extender. I’ll be sure to link them below.

Conclusion

To conclude after all the stressing I found a laptop that works perfectly for me. The fact that I had an idea of what I needed my system to have and what I wanted to spend made things a lot easier. I do recommend leaving the kids home if possible when shopping. But if not Put them in a buggy with a tablet and shop on.

Writing has always been a passion of mine. Since a young age writing was a very needed way of escaping to places unknown. I remember writing my first "book" in my bedroom as a youngling. The love of poetry and writing just continued to grow through my adolescent, teen, and adult years. I never really shared my stories or poetry with anyone until I was older and more comfortable with rejection. Expressing my feelings through words is something that no one can ever take from me. Today as a mother of two rambunctious children I find myself writing educational, poetry, and romance works of art. In my educational works you can always find a hidden message that hopefully will make you not only evaluate yourself but think about others. My romance novels and poems are super steamy and definitely for a mature audience. No matter the genre that I am writing for I just hope that the world enjoys every moment.
